Services
A medical librarian is available to provide custom online subject searches and to assist with general research as needed. Full text information related to patient care or hospital business is free to all Sutter Roseville physicians and employees. Personal medical research for employees or public patrons is charged on a cost-recovery basis. A variety of search systems are available depending on whether clinical or consumer health information is needed. Requests may be placed over the phone at 916-781-1580 or by visiting the library in person. The library encourages Loansome Doc use by physicians who use Grateful Med software. Staff members may order personal copies of medical textbooks through the library at a 10 percent discount. Call the library to place your order and you will be notified when it arrives. We can also track down breaking medical news stories as cited on TV or in print. For more information about our services or fees, call the library.

Collection
The collection supports the study and practice of clinical medicine. The collection consists of 65 current biomedical journal titles and over 1,000 book titles. The library also has a collection of pamphlets, videos and audiocassettes. The library has access to:

Internet
The library is connected to the Internet and searches may be arranged through the librarian. A graphics workstation is equipped with a color scanner, slide maker and zip drive to assist with PowerPoint presentations. A second workstation is dedicated to the use of CD-Rom products.

Circulation
Medical staff and hospital employees may borrow books and past issues of journals for two weeks. The current issue of a journal may be checked out over night. Audiovisual materials circulate for one week. Reference materials do not circulate. Employees may make free photocopies of work-related information. Public patrons pay 10¢ a page for copies.

Interlibrary Loan
Books and articles not available at Sutter Roseville may be obtained through interlibrary loan and should be requested through the librarian. Materials may take 1-3 weeks to arrive. Work-related loans are free to Sutter employees, and at a nominal fee for public patrons. Lost or damaged materials are billed at the replacement cost, plus a processing fee.
